There had been reports doing the rounds that director Bobby Bedi was planning to make a sequel to Shekhar Kapur's controversial and award-winning flick Bandit Queen, in which Seema Biswas would be retained to play the central character of dacoit Phoolan Devi.
However, Biswas recently rubbished such speculations and claimed that a sequel is not likely. The acclaimed actress was quoted saying that she was approached for acting in the sequel around three years back but nothing materialized out of it. However, she did admit that she would love to work in a sequel to the film.
Bandit Queen revolved around the life of Phoolan Devi, who joins a gang of dacoits to avenge herself after being gang-raped by upper-caste men in her village.
