Veteran actor Nana Patekar, who was seen playing the role of tough encounter cop Sadhu Agashe in Ab Tak Chhappan and will be seen reprising his role in the sequel to the movie, is reportedly gearing up to work on the third installment of the movie already!
Confirming the news, the Krantiveer was quoted saying that as soon as the sequel releases sometime in November, he will begin to start working on the third film in the series, where he will be once more seen playing Agashe. Patekar also added that the third series will be shot abroad and that the details of the script are being worked out as of now.
Nana Patekar will also be seen playing a role based on top cop Rakesh Maria in Ram Gopal Varma's film 26/11, which is based on the horrific terror attacks that shook the city a few years back.
Actor Shreyas Talpade seems to have finally found a 'Godfather' in the industry. The one, taking the Iqbal actor under his wings, is none other than Nana Patekar.
Apparently, Nana is quite impressed with his younger co-star and has been recommending his name to several filmmakers.
Sources claim that the two hit it off right away on the sets of the film Kamaal Dhamaal Malamaal and have been often spotted in deep conversations about films.
A source was quoted saying that Shreyas holds Nana in very high regard, while Nana too is very impressed by Shreyas. Also, considering both of them are Maharashtrians, their camaraderie is great on-screen and off it.
Directed by Priyadarshan, also starring Paresh Rawal and Anjana Sukhani, Kamaal Dhamaal Malamaal is said to be the sequel of the 2006 film Malamaal Weekly.
Nana Patekar, for his upcoming film Kamaal Dhamaal Malamaal, was always on time despite a back injury.
When asked about his injury, Nana said, "Injuries are like guests. If you treat them well and pamper them, they stay back and refuse to go away. You need to be aloof about their existence and they leave as quickly as they came."
The cheerful actor effortlessly lifted co-star Shreyas Talpade on his shoulders for a shot in the film, directed by Priyadarshan.
"It is important for each of us to maintain a healthy lifestyle. We need to let go of addictions. I have. So can you. And once you are healthy, go for walks, do yoga and quit bad habits like smoking and drinking, you will be fit and fine," added Nana.
It had been reported earlier that Nana made his director Priyadarshan give up on smoking during the making of this film.
Guess, fitness comes first for the 62-year-old actor!
Buzz is that actor Nana Patekar is going to play Rakesh Maria in Ram Gopal Varma's film based on the 26/11 attacks in Mumbai. Nana is making a comeback of sorts with RGV in the Ab Tak Chhappan sequel. For those who don't know, Nana's role in the 2004 film Ab Tak Chhappan was loosely based on encounter specialist Daya Nayak.
Rakesh Maria was in charge of leading the investigations of the November 2008 Mumbai attacks. Sources claim that RGV had also approached Sanjay Dutt and Kamal Haasan for the same role.
