Actor Ranbir Kapoor was embroiled in trouble owing to smoking in public. However, yesterday the actor told a local court through his lawyer that he was smoking at Udaipur as a part of the shoot of a film.

The actor had been summoned by the court to appear owing to the case against him for allegedly smoking in public. Ranbir Kapoor was in Udaipur shooting for his film Yeh Jawani Hai Deewani.

Harish, a resident of Jagdish Chowk, had filed a complaint with Ghantaghar police station on June 1 under section 5/1 of the Rajasthan Smoking Prohibition Act 2010.

The court has fixed next hearing in the case for August 27, 2012.

Ayan Mukerji's upcoming film Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani is one of the most awaited films simply because it will feature former flames Ranbir Kapoor and Deepika Padukone romantically paired opposite each other and now, sources claim that there is one more reason to look forward to the film.

It is being said that the theme of the film is somewhat similar to Salman Khan-Madhuri Dixit starrer hit Hum Aapke Hain Koun, in the sense that the characters played by Ranbir and Deepika meet each other at Kalki Koechlin's wedding and start liking each other during the festivities and other celebrations carried out in the course of the wedding. The wedding sequences were shot at a palace in Udaipur as well as sets on Mehboob Studios.

Apart from Ranbir, Deepika and Kalki, the film also stars Kunal Kapoor and Aditya Roy Kapoor.

Ayan Mukerji's upcoming film with Deepika Padukone and Ranbir Kapoor, Yeh Jawani Hai Deewani may not be able to release on the pre-decided date in March 2013.

Ayan has been constantly reworking on the script. Owing to the delay in the scripting, the film had already been postponed by two months from the previous deadline of January.

Reportedly, the delay is causing plenty of problems for the actors as some of them have lost out on other projects.

Since this is a Karan Johar production, the artistes have stayed on.
