After a month-long holiday with son Aarav during his vacations, the actor is now planning to take another fortnight-long break soon.

Even though his latest film OMG Oh My God! is set to release later this month, Akshay has decided not to step outside Mumbai for promotions between September 10 and September 20.

Considering wife Twinkle Khanna is due with their second child, Akshay wants to be around his wife during the delivery instead of being outside the city.

The actor is currently shooting in Muscat for the sequel to Once Upon A Time In Mumbaai and is set to return to Mumbai after a week.

It's going to be a musical extravaganza tonight on the popular singing reality show, Indian Idol. The stars of the film OMG Oh My God!, Akshay Kumar and Paresh Rawal, are going to be releasing the music of their upcoming film on the show. Legendary singer Asha Bhosle, who is also one of the co-judges, will unveil the music of the film along with the two stars of OMG Oh My God!.

The promos of the film have garnered a lot of praise, with the track Go Go Govinda turning out to be a chartbuster. Promos of songs such as Hari Bol and Mere Nishaan have also been much appreciated by the masses.

The two actors had a blast on the sets of the show. Listen to Akshay Kumar croon a devotional song entitled, Nirgun Raakh Liya, to a packed house. Refuting speculations that actress Sonakshi Sinha, who will be seen in a special song in upcoming flick OMG Oh My God! has landed a small role in the film due to actor-producer Akshay Kumar, producers of the movie said that Sinha does not have a role in the film.

A spokesperson from the production house was quoted saying that though Sinha will be seen n a special song go Govinda alongwith Prabhu Deva in the film, the actress does not have a role as such in the film. A few weeks back, actor Paresh Rawal had also claimed that the story of the film is such that it does not need a female lead as such.

Starring Akshay Kumar and Paresh Rawal, this light-hearted film, produced by Grazing Goat Productions, Viacom 18 and S. Spice, is about a cynical atheist Kanjibhai (Paresh Rawal), who files a case against God, compelling Lord Krishna (Akshay Kumar) to make an appearance to defend himself against the charges leveled against him.

All those who have seen the trailers of upcoming film OMG Oh My God! are sure to have chuckled at seeing Mithun Chakraborty, Poonam Jhavar and Govind Namdeo playing the stereotypical godmen (or women, in Poonam's case).

However, what many might not know is that director Umesh Shukla actually made these actors watch spiritual channels to get a feel of how godmen talk and behave in real life. Confirming the news, director Umesh Shukla said that he wanted actors Mithun, Poonam and Govind to observe the mannerisms of such godmen and spiritual talkers so that it could help them with their roles.

It is a well known fact that actress Sonakshi Sinha, who was last seen opposite Akshay Kumar in 'Rowdy Rathore', had been roped in for a dance number with Prabhu Deva in Akshay's next flick 'OMG Oh My God!'.

However, what many might not know is that Sinha has recently managed to land a small role in the film too, all thanks to her 'Rowdy' co-star Akki! Sources claim that Sinha requested Akshay to let her perform a few scenes in the movie too a she was impressed with the way the movie has turned out and gracious gent that he is, Akki, who is also the co-producer of the movie, agreed to do so.

This might definitely come as a surprise to many, specially after Paresh Rawal's recent comments that 'OMG Oh My God!' is the kind of film that does not require a heroine. Wonder what Mr. Rawal has to to say about these recent developments now…

OMG Oh My God is the upcoming venture of Akshay Kumar and Paresh Rawal which has music by Himesh Reshammiya and a guest composition by Anjjan-Meet Brothers. It is interesting to see a different side of Himesh as he brings on some soulful music that is mainly about the almighty and His magic. Himesh's unique work makes it quite exclusive from the league of other contemporary soundtracks.


The album begins with the track Don't Worry (Hey Ram) in the vocals of Benny Dayal and Himesh Reshammiya. The background music adds a pinch of masti from the evergreen track Dum Maaro Dum [Hare Rama Hare Krishna]. The two tracks cannot be compared and are poles apart as this one is a pleasant experimentthat adds up a flavor of carefree life which is well penned with a mix of English words by Subrat Sinha. A modern avatar of prayer offerings, this one is a huge winner in the making.


The 'remix version' of this track is close to the original track with a mix of high note beats making it all the more vociferous. This version will certainly be able to enhance the splendor of discs and clubs.


Master of Sufi Kailash Kher adds rainbow of beautiful vocals in the track Mere Nishaan. This one is a soft track with a pleasant chorus in the background given by Anjjan - Meet Brothers. Lyricist Kumaar deserves an acknowledgement for his magnificent piece of work as he successfully brings to fore the predicament of the God who is helping today's thankless human beings. The musicalarrangements by guest composers Anjjan Meet - Brothers are really beautiful and aptly sketch the theme of the movie. It is an extremely mesmerizing number which would really do well in the movie.


Tu Hi Tu is a solo track sung by Mohd Irfan. This track begins with a gripping flute that catches up on beats gradually and paces on a fast track with high notes. This number very magnificently and rightly explains the presence andexistence of almighty within human heart. Himesh's composition is really appealing with a touch of rock element infused in it that will certainly grasp attention of the young listeners. Sameer's lyrics are good as always though the 'reprise version' is quite similar to the original with hardly any innovation to the original.


The 'unplugged' is a pliable edition which takes off with soft beats and is carried forward with a soulful play of flute, violin and piano, hence turning out to be immensely mesmerizing. This one is even better than the previous two adaptations of the same track, including the 'remix version' and invites one to close eyes and feel the presence of almighty around.


Go Go Govinda begins on high notes while skillfully using the shrill beats of drums to spice it up with the amazing vocals of Mika Singh and Shreya Ghoshal. Both artists have really complemented each other well which is also a strong forte of this already hit track. Theflow of enthusiasm in this track reminds of magic, masti and thrill of Janamashtmi and its Dahi Handi. Musical arrangements from Himesh are pleasant and exciting that really go well with the Govinda theme. Lyrics by Shabbir Ahmed are simple and straightforward, hence making the song all the more enjoyable. Ditto for the 'reprise' version which has Aman Trikha coming behind the mike.


Next to arrive is Hari Bol which is a solo composition in the vocals of Kirti Sagathia. This number is a folk based composition by Sachin-Jigar who have optimally utilized various shades of traditional Gujarati music. Altogether it is a nice experiment by the composer duo with Swanand Kirkire's lyrics going very well with the theme of this track.


The album is carried ahead with Oh My God (sound Track), a short enchantment of almighty lord by Zubeen Garg. Track is a pleasant gift for mind and soul that will make you sway in desire of God. Soul play of Flute is a rare gift which comes with the next track Krishna Theme. This is a magnificent classical jugalbandi of flute which also has a very soothing effect on the soul. A rare treat to enjoy!


Overall the album is an unusual experiment in itself with an already good response for Go Go Govinda. With rest of the songs making this score all the more rich and soulful lyrics adding on to the overall appeal, OMG Oh My God is indeed one of the memorable albums in the offering from Himesh.

This time, it's Akshay Kumar who will be piggybacking on the super success of his contemporary Salman Khan's Ek Tha Tiger, to promote his upcoming production venture OMG Oh My God!. The makers of the film have adopted a unique marketing strategy of placing donation boxes - similar to the ones you see in temples - at two multiplexes in the city. The boxes read - 'Have you bribed God today?'

Vikram Malhotra, COO, Viacom18 Motion Pictures explains: "OMG is a film with mass appeal. It is for people who believe in God and those who don't. So we decided to engage the audience in a manner that is thought-provoking. We placed these daan petis (donation boxes) so that people can go back with the message - 'Aren't you really bribing God to get a wish fulfilled?' A wish could range from good exam scores to college admissions to marriages. Donation and prayers are offered with an objective rather than solely out of devotion. That is one of the things that the film addresses."

The boxes have received coins, notes from young girls looking for grooms and also notes from youngsters reading 'You cannot bribe God for anything'. The makers are excited by this response in city multiplexes and now plan to take the promotions to a national level. Malhotra adds, "We'll spread it across 15 cities and 80 properties and focus on multiplex chains that attract youth.”

A source attached to the film revealed that the story of the film is such that it does not require a strong female lead and taking this in consideration, the makers decided to not rope in any actress opposite the Khiladi. Sources claim that at the behest of his mother, Akshay Kumar started reading the Bhagwad Gita, which is considered to be a holy text for Hindus, as Akki's mother felt that it was quite important for him to read the holy book if he was going to play the role of Krishna in the film.
