Poor Shirish Kunder's bad luck doesn't seem to be in any hurry to let go of the poor chap! After his controversial scuffle with none other than Shah Rukh Khan and the cold vibes shared with Akshay Kumar, it now seems that Kunder has fresh trouble on his plate.
Sources claim that Sajid Nadiadwala, the producer of the Salman Khan starrer Kick, has asked Kunder to leave the project and decided to wield the megaphone himself. Whereas on one hand, it is being said that Nadiadwala took this decision as Kick was his brainchild, others suggest (rather cattily) that Kunder has been asked to leave following his fiasco with Joker, which had left Sajid's good friend Akki fuming (the Khiladi was said to be unhappy with the way the movie had turned out to be).
Kunder's recent release was the Akshay-Sonakshi Sinha starrer Joker, a sci-fi adventure about a remote village, which becomes the centre of media attention following reports of crop circles and alien landings.

There were already rumours that actor Akshay Kumar is not happy with the way Joker has turned out and it seems that Salman Khan, who was supposed to star in Kunder's next film Kick, is not too happy with the script of the film. Confirming the news, producer Sajid Nadiadwala was quoted saying that a few dialogues are being changed and a 'little shuffling here and there' is taking place, because of which, the film will go on floors next year. Nadiadwala also added that they are still looking for some actress to play the female lead.
Meanwhile, Kunder's sci-fi adventure Joker, which stars Akshay Kumar and Sonakshi Sinha, is slated to release this weekend.
Six years - That's a rather long wait that Shirish Kunder was willing to put when he started working on his next film after 'Jaan-E-Mann'. The film was appreciated for its music, aesthetics and most importantly, visuals and though many around Shirish suggested that he take an easier way out for his next outing, he instead embarked upon an unconventional subject - 'Joker'.
While Akshay had showed good confidence in Shirish during 'Jaan-E-Mann', one wonders how easy or difficult it for was latter to convince him about the world that he was creating in 'Joker'.
"Let me tell you something. People who work with me when I am making a film sometimes tend to wonder what I am really asking for since I create altogether different visuals and ambience. I insist on certain kind of performance and don't like anyone to be going over the top", smiles Shirish.
No wonder, for Akshay, who revels in hardcore masala movies, the core set up of crop circles, a fictional village called Paglapur and an all around mad atmosphere, was something that did throw a surprise.
"This isn't all as from the technical standpoint also I fight with the producer, cameraman and the technical crew to fetch me something that I have envisioned. They do get confused that why am I insisting so much on lighting a shot in a particular way. At times even an actor may end up challenging me that what's the point in spending so much time when audiencewon't even notice such nitty-gritty", smiles Shirish.
"It's okay though; the final results are what they matter. Even during 'Jaan-E-Mann' Salman and Akshay were pleasantly surprised when they saw how the visuals looked in the end. 'Joker' should do the same for everyone now", smiles Shirish before signing off.
The film releases all over this Friday.
Shah Rukh Khan and Shirish Kunder had an ugly fight, during Sanjay Dutt's Agneepath success bash, when Khan heard the filmmaker taking potshots at his magnum opus RA.One. However, later Kunder's wife Farah Khan and her brother Sajid Khan made peace, between the two.
And months after the fracas, Kunder apologized publicly for ridiculing RA.One. Shirish took to Twitter to extend the olive branch writing, "I'll always regret one thing that I feel very guilty about. I sincerely apologize for my tweet on Ra.One @iamsrk."
Interestingly, Shirish had also made fun of Ra.One on Twitter. He wrote, "just heard a 150 Cr firework fizzle." And this didn't go down too well with the Baadshah of Bollywood.
Meanwhile on Farah's request, SRK has agreed to do a special song for Kunder's upcoming sci-fi flick Joker, which stars Sonakshi Sinha and Akshay Kumar in the lead roles.

After the huge success of the Akshay Kumar-Sonakshi Sinha starrer Rowdy Rathore, there are huge expectations from this film.
There have been a lot of rumours about this film and most have not been favourable. Apparently, Akshay Kumar is disappointed with the way the film has shaped up, and has given up on it. This is the apparent reason why he has not been promoting the film.
News doing the rounds is that Joker is the shortest commercial multi-starrer Bollywood film to be made. An exhibitor has been quoted saying that the film is just 105 minutes long.
Director Shirish Kunder recently revealed that ever since he has finished the post-production work on his upcoming fantasy adventure film Joker, he has started feeling unemployed.
The 39-year-old filmmaker recently tweeted, "With each reel of Joker getting finalized, work for me is getting less. Really don't know what to do with my time anymore. Feeling jobless!"
Joker, starring Akshay Kumar, Sonakshi Sinha, Shreyas Talpade and Minissha Lamba, is set to release on August 31. Kunder's last directorial venture Jaan-E-Mann, starring Akshay Kumar, Preity Zinta and Salman Khan, hadn't done too well at the box-office. Let's see how Joker fares!
Even though the world around him seems to be more concerned than he is about his Joker entering the 100 crore club, the film's chief architect Shirish Kunder is least perturbed. While fans and followers of Akshay Kumar are anxious to check if the film would also mark a hat trick of centuries for the actor after Housefull 2 and Rowdy Rathore, Shirish doesn't mind confessing that his film is more innovative than masala.
"Shirish has consciously stayed away from adding unwanted masala into Joker. He feels that doing that would have compromised the vision he had for the sci-fi alien comedy. Even though some around him suggested to bring on some quintessential elements, he had innovation in mind", says a close associate of the director.
This means that even though he has aimed Joker at the masses, he is projecting the film more as a family outing which children as the driving force for the target audience.
Says Shirish, "If I was really conscious of the 100 crore club, I would have put a bikini scene in the film or added some kissing. Some even said to me that yahan kuch action daal do, wahan thoda masala aur kar do. However I am not doing that."
Wouldn't it have helped though if he would have taken the step? After all, he had Akshay Kumar and Sonakshi Sinha at his disposal.
He reasons, "See, the film is for the masses and commercially speaking, we are in the safe zone. I never made the film with this risk factor in mind that what would happen is 100 crore milestone is not met. Tomorrow when I make a movie with that factor in mind, perhaps I would work on the overall packaging. However, Joker doesn't require that."
Filmmaker Shirish Kunder, who took six years to release his second film, has stated that he wants to be regular and will make one film a year from now onwards.
Kunder's directorial debut Jaan-E-Mann released in 2006 and it took him six years to make his second film Joker. The 39-year-old tweeted, "2006: I directed my 1st film Jaan-E-mann. 2012 : My second film Joker. Now on, I'll direct a film every year. Will torture you all more often."
His film, starring Akshay Kumar and Sonakshi Sinha, is set to release on August 31.
Farah Khan, who makes her acting debut alongside Boman Irani is Shirin Farhad Ki Toh Nikal Padi, has stated that she isn't sure if her husband Shirish Kunder is going to watch the film.
Farah was recently quoted saying that although she got a lot of encouragement from Shirish, but she isn't sure if he would go see the film as he is not one of those husbands who would enjoy watching his wife holding hands with someone else.

Filmmaker Shirish Kunder, who got in a spat with Bollywood superstar and wife Farah Khan's good friend Shah Rukh Khan at a party this January after making some uncharitable comments about SRK's Ra.One in a state of inebriation, has reportedly given up alcohol!
The reason- wifey Farah Khan apparently cracked the whip and like a good husband, Shirish decided to give it up. It is being said that Farah persuaded him to give up alcohol by making him realise that his career and image as a filmmaker might get affected because of his habits.
The much publicized brawl took place during the Agneepath success party when a tipsy Kunder made nasty remarks about the King Khan's magnum opus Ra.One and the miffed Don assaulted Kunder until Sanjay Dutt intervened and pried them apart. The dispute later got resolved when Sajid Khan and a few other mutual pals brokered peace between Farah and Shah Rukh.
Kunder's next film Joker is a science fiction adventure film starring Akshay Kumar and Sonakshi Sinha, among others.
