The son of veteran character actor Suresh Oberoi, Vivek Oberoi made his Bollywood debut as the gritty gangster Chandu Nagre in Ram Gopal Varma's Company, where he was pitted against Ajay Devgn.
Vivek's performance got noticed and won him many accolades and he also won the Filmfare Award that year for Best Debut and Best Supporting Actor. Following this, Vivek appeared in many movies like Road, Saathiya and Dum. Oberoi also played the role of Kesu Firangi in Vishal bhardwaj's Omkara, which was a desi adaptation of Othello.
Vivek's another big break came when he played the role of gangster Maya Dolas in Shootout At Lokhandwala, a multi-starrer film starring actors like Amitabh Bachchan, Sanjay Dutt, Suniel Shetty and Amrita Singh, to name a few.
Apart from acting, Vivek is quite active when it comes to social causes and has also lent his support to anti-smoking and anti-gutkha campaigns. Oberoi serves as the World Health Organization's anti-tobacco spokesperson and is also involved with several charities in Chennai and Mumbai. His philanthropic activities also include Project Devi, Cancer Patients Aid Association and Banyan, which works towards rehabilitating mentally challenged homeless women.
On 29 October 2010, Oberoi married Priyanka Alva, the daughter of Karnataka minister Jeevaraj Alva in Bangalore and the actor is expected to be a father soon. On the professional side, Oberoi will be seen in films like Kismet Love Paisa Dilli, Jayantabhai Ki Luv Story and Krrish 3, where he will be seen playing the role of an antagonist named Kaal.
On the occasion of his birthday, we at Movie Talkies wish this talented actor a long and prosperous life.

It sure is raining babies in Bollywood! After Abhishek Bachchan, Sanjay Dutt and Raj Kundra turned fathers in the recent past, its now time for Vivek Oberoi to enjoy the joys of fatherhood, it seems.
Sources claim that Vivek's wife Priyanka Alva is pregnant by two months and is due to give birth sometime in February-March next year. Taking this in consideration, Vivek, who got married to Priyanka in 2010, has reportedly also requested the filmmakers that he is working with for allowing him some time off in February, so he can play the doting husband to his pregnant wife at the time of the delivery. However, this is not the sole cause of happiness for the Saathiya star. It is also believed that Vivek's sister Meghna Oberoi, who had married businessman Amit Bama, is also expecting and both the deliveries are scheduled to happen at around the same time!
On the professional front too, things are looking rather rosy for Vivek, who will be seen in films like Kismet Love Paisa Dilli and Jayantabhai Ki Love Story, not to mention Zilla Ghaziabad and Krrish 3, where he will be seen playing the antagonist named Kaal.

Actress Mallika Sherawat, who is much in the news lately due to her Hollywood connections, has now decided to give her 'firang' friends a dose of Bollywood, it seems.
Sources claim that the Haryanvi hottie, who will be next seen opposite Vivek Oberoi in Kismet Love Paisa Dilli, has reportedly asked producer Amit Chandra to give her a subtitled version of the trailer of the film for her to showcase in LA, to which Amit has agreed and arranged for English subtitles to be incorporated in the promo. It is also being said that Sherawat has booked a movie hall in Los Angeles so that she can show the promo of her film to her Hollywood friends.
Mallika Sherawat recently courted controversy when she was clicked dancing with Hollywood star Antonio Banderas at a club in Cannes, which did not go down well with Antonio's wife Melanie Griffith.
