Shirin Farhad Ki Toh Nikal Padi hasn't quite managed to create magic at the box office. If the opening was lukewarm, the progress over the weekend wasn't much heartening either. The weekdays stayed on to be ordinary too with further fall in collections which means at the end of it's first week, the collections of this Sanjay Leela Bhansali production have accounted to just around 9 crores. Though this is far better than what My Friend Pinto had earned when released last year, one expected far better from this Boman Irani and Farah Khan starrer that had sent positive signals when it's promotion had kick-started.
One can't ignore the fact that Ek Tha Tiger played a major role in the film not finding good visibility and favour amongst the audience. With the Salman Khan starrer managing more than triple the collections of this Bela Sehgal directed film even in its second week, the writing was clear on the wall. Moreover, the content too wasn't really terrific enough to warrant junta stepping into theatres in hordes. All in all, this was a theek thaak affair that could entice a DVD or a satellite watch but when it came to its big screen foray, it was given a pass.
Ironically Farah Khan has faced a challenge from herself as her own production Joker has now released which means 'Shirin Farhad....' has a limited screen space in theatres. The theatrical collections are now expected to close at the 12 crore mark which is ordinary and may just about result in the film being tagged as a coverage affair.

After trying his hand at photography and making a name for himself in acting, it seems that Boman Irani wants to take up fresh challenges.
The talented actor, who is seen playing the role of a Parsi gentleman named Farhad Pastakia in Shirin Farhad Ki Toh Nikal Padi, recently admitted that he would like to direct a film someday. Boman was quoted saying that as he likes human beings, he would like to make a movie about people and their spirit. Boman also added that he doesn't like violence much, so there might not be a lot of dishoom-dishoom in the film.
Known for his versatility and acting skills, Boman Irani has earned accolades for his role in movies like Khosla Ka Ghosla, Munna Bhai MBBS, Being Cyrus and Main Hoon Na, to name a few.

Veteran actor Boman Irani, who will be next seen romancing Farah Khan in Bela Bhansali Sehgal's Shirin Farhad Ki Toh Nikal Padi recently admitted that it was his wife Zenobia who urged him to give the nod for the role.
Boman was quoted saying that when he told wife Zenobia that Farah Khan will be romantically paired opposite him in the movie, an excited Zenobia exclaimed that Boman should take up this role just for the reason that it has a great cast. Incidentally, Farah Khan, who graduated to direction from choreography, will be making her acting debut with this film.
Shirin Farhad Ki Toh Nikal Padi, which releases this weekend, is the story of a romance between two above 40 Parsis and the issues that they face when it comes to marrying each other.

Actor Boman Irani has stated that he doesn't understand why celebrities hide from the media when their motive behind becoming an actor is to get famous.
The actor, while paying a visit to the Don Bosco shelter in Mumbai, said that actors work so hard to become famous and when they do so, they run from the press.
Boman also targeted newcomers who start acting pricey after earning fame. He was last seen in Ferrari Ki Sawaari alongside Sharman Joshi, which released in June.
The actor will next be seen in Shirin Farhad Ki Toh Nikal Padi. The film, directed by Bela Bhansali Sehgal, and starring Farah Khan, is set to release on August 24.

The initial poster of upcoming flick Shirin Farhad Ki Toh Nikal Padi showed Boman Irani and Farah Khan mimicking a scene from Hum Aapke Hain Kaun, with Boman playfully aiming a catapult at Farah's posterior.
However, apparently not satisfied with spoofing just one film, it seems that the duo wanted to spoof another film scene and none other than Farah's good friend Karan Johar stepped in to save the day.
In one of the other posters, Boman and Farah will be seen dressed like Shah Rukh Khan and Kajol in Kuch Kuch Hota Hai, complete with sunglasses and sporty attire. It seems that Farah consulted KJo about this and the latter was eager to help Farah with the spin on his debut directorial.
Directed by Bela Bhansali Sehgal, Shirin Farhad Ki Toh Nikal Padi revolves around the romance between a Parsi man and a woman in their forties. Incidentally, this film marks the acting debut of choreographer-turned-director Farah Khan.

Farah Khan has directed the choreography of quite a few chartbusters and now she is going to be on the receiving end. Farah will be seen in an item number in her acting debut Shirin Farhad Ki Toh Nikal Padi.
Farah even tweeted, "Have woken up 1 hour earlier than alarm in excitement. Joker ad out n I'm shootng an item song 4 Shirin Farhad... bt this time I'm dancing! surreal."
The film, also starring Boman Irani, is set to release on August 24
