
Director Imtiaz Ali feels that he is not clean enough internally to attempt a children's film. Ali feels that to make a children's film such as Gattu, one's heart needs to be pure and soft.
Imtiaz was present at the premiere of the film Gattu, directed by Rajan Khosa. It is the first film by the Children's Film Society of India to be released theatrically.
Gattu has been honoured with a special mention at the 62nd Berlin International Film Festival in February.

Sources claim that director Imtiaz Ali’s divorce with wife Preety has come through. Imtiaz, who had separated from his wife a while ago, has reportedly become very close to Pakistani model-turned-actress Iman Ali.
Iman has been seen in much-acclaimed Pakistani films Khuda Kay Liye and Bol. She is the daughter of television and film actor Abid Ali.
A source claims that Iman was introduced to Imtiaz by mutual friends in B-town last year and the pair has come very close since then. They have been spotted together on a couple of occasions at the Nizamuddin dargah in Delhi.
Imtiaz and Preety were having problems in their marriage over a year. They also have an 11-year-old daughter Ida.

After the critically-acclaimed and the award-winning Rockstar, the actor-director duo, Ranbir Kapoor and Imtiaz Ali, would be coming together once again for a film produced by Sajid Nadiadwala. The film will go on floors late next year.
Imtiaz Ali has had a great run in the Hindi film industry so far with films such as Socha Na Tha, Jab We Met, Love Aaj Kal and Rockstar.
In a recent interview, he was quoted saying that he has been very fortunate that all the actors that he has taken in his films have suited the part and the same implies to Ranbir.
Ranbir Kapoor will next be seen in the Anurag Basu film Barfi!.
