Even if he has a lot of projects on hand, actor-producer Akshay Kumar makes sure that he takes a break for his family once in a while.
After a month-long holiday with son Aarav during his vacations, the actor is now planning to take another fortnight-long break soon.
Even though his latest film OMG Oh My God! is set to release later this month, Akshay has decided not to step outside Mumbai for promotions between September 10 and September 20.
Considering wife Twinkle Khanna is due with their second child, Akshay wants to be around his wife during the delivery instead of being outside the city.
The actor is currently shooting in Muscat for the sequel to Once Upon A Time In Mumbaai and is set to return to Mumbai after a week.

The upcoming film OMG Oh My God!, directed by Umesh Shukla, is based on a popular play entitled Kishan vs Kanhaiya. Actor Paresh Rawal, who will be seen playing Kanjibhai in the film, is also the protagonist in this play. Kishan vs Kanhaiya was staged at the Rang Sharda auditorium at Bandra yesterday.
Various known personalities attended the staging of the play. However, it was a pleasant surprise to see veteran actor and politician Shatrughan Sinha along with his daughter Sonakshi Sinha at the auditorium. Akshay Kumar also accompanied the father-daughter jodi for the play. While Sonakshi Sinha has done a guest appearance in the song Go Go Govinda, along with Prabhu Deva for the film, Akshay, apart from being the co-producer, will be seen playing God in it.
OMG Oh My God!, starring Akshay Kumar, Paresh Rawal and Mithun Chakraborty, is about Kanji Mehta (Paresh Rawal), an atheist, who sues God because an earthquake destroys his antique shop. Amidst his legal tussles, he runs into Krishna Vasudev Yadav (played by Akshay Kumar), a man who claims to be God.
What follows is a journey of epic proportions, of self-realization and legal masterstrokes.
The film is set to release on September 28.

Actor-producer Akshay Kumar, who will be seen playing the role of God in the upcoming film OMG Oh My God!, has not only styled his own look but also got a customized bike for his character.
The actor will be seen riding a stylized bike with a license plate that interestingly carries symbols of Hinduism, Islam and Christianity. The number plate has 'OM', '786' and 'The Cross' imprinted upon it.
So, not only will Akshay get to be God, but he will also get to spread the message that 'All Religions Are Equal'. This unique license plate has added a lot of style to the bike, along with a whole lot of substance.

Actor Akshay Kumar has two big-ticket films up for release, Joker and OMG Oh My God!. The actor is making sure that he puts in all efforts for his look and character in both the films, especially the latter.
A source revealed that OMG Oh My God! is a special film for Akshay, as he is not only acting in the film, but producing it as well.
Although, Akshay is co-producing Joker as well, he is making sure that OMG Oh My God! gets a smooth sailing as well. Hence, not only has the actor taken personal interest in the different sections of the production, but has designed his look for the film as well.
Considering Akshay plays the role of God in the film, he designed his own wardrobe and assembled some clothes and came up with this new look. The best part is that he actually wears clothes from his own wardrobe.

The Akshay Kumar-Katrina Kaif pairing has delivered many hits in the past and it now seems that martial artist turned Akshay Kumar is quite keen to work on another project with lissome lass Kaif.
Sources claim that Akshay even has a script ready for their next film but is waiting for Katrina Kaif to be free from her present projects, which include YRF racy thriller Dhoom 3 and Yash Chopra's untitled romance, in which she will be paired opposite Shah Rukh Khan for the very first time.
Meanwhile, Akshay Kumar will be next seen playing the role of a modern day Lord Krishna (complete with snazzy suits and designer eyewear) in the Paresh Rawal starrer OMG Oh My God!, which revolves around an atheist, who files a case against God in a court of law for losses suffered to his shop due to a natural calamity.

Way back in 2008, Aamir Khan had got the ushers of a multiplex chain to sport the Ghajini look to promote his upcoming film, during the release of Shah Rukh Khan's film Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi. This time, it's Akshay Kumar who will be piggybacking on the super success of his contemporary Salman Khan's Ek Tha Tiger, to promote his upcoming production venture OMG Oh My God!. The makers of the film have adopted a unique marketing strategy of placing donation boxes - similar to the ones you see in temples - at two multiplexes in the city. The boxes read - 'Have you bribed God today?'
Vikram Malhotra, COO, Viacom18 Motion Pictures explains: "OMG is a film with mass appeal. It is for people who believe in God and those who don't. So we decided to engage the audience in a manner that is thought-provoking. We placed these daan petis (donation boxes) so that people can go back with the message - 'Aren't you really bribing God to get a wish fulfilled?' A wish could range from good exam scores to college admissions to marriages. Donation and prayers are offered with an objective rather than solely out of devotion. That is one of the things that the film addresses."
The boxes have received coins, notes from young girls looking for grooms and also notes from youngsters reading 'You cannot bribe God for anything'. The makers are excited by this response in city multiplexes and now plan to take the promotions to a national level. Malhotra adds, "We'll spread it across 15 cities and 80 properties and focus on multiplex chains that attract youth.”

Shreyas Talpade is indeed ecstatic to be forming a team with Akshay Kumar. After working with him in a huge comic hit Housefull 2, he would now be seen with Akshay in a sci-fi-adventure-fantasy flick Joker. Though Shreyas was one of the four leading men in Housefull 2, he is now the second lead in Joker and has a pivotal role to play. Meanwhile he is happy about the fact that despite a senior actor like Akshay in the film, he has found his own place in the Shirish Kunder directed affair.
"I had absolutely no insecurity while working with Akshay. If I wanted to improvise on something, he was more than happy to accommodate. What also is really impressive is that he is always so charged, enthusiastic and raring to go. I would love to work with him again and again", says Shreyas.
Meanwhile he is also finding company of Minissha Lamba (who plays a TV reporter in the film) with whom he was seen last year in Hum Tum Shabana.
Smiles Shreyas, "Yes, that film (Hum Tum Shabana) required me to be a lot more boisterous though here I was being subtle. A lot is being said through looks and ishaaron ishaaron mein. Unlike a rom-com, here our romance didn't involve much of masti. There are some cute moments though because I am completely smitten by her and there is love at first sight."
He is happy with the way Joker has shaped up into the final product and can't wait to see audience reactions.
"The film in totality is of course something new. It has the kind of genre and subject that you usually see in Hollywood films", he says, "Honestly you need guts to come up with something like this. I am glad that Shirish gave me an opportunity to play a fantastic role like this. It is a comedy which in true terms is different. With a plot like this (comprising of aliens) and a desi flavour, it makes Joker all the more intriguing."
The film releases all over on 31st August.

Actor Akshay Kumar, who was last seen in South remake Rowdy Rathore, had wooed actress Sonakshi Sinha with his roguish charms in the movie. However, it seems that in his next film Naam Hai Boss, which is the remake of Malayalam flick Pokkiri Raja, Akshay won't be having a leading lady to woo.
A source attached to the film revealed that the story of the film is such that it does not require a strong female lead and taking this in consideration, the makers decided to not rope in any actress opposite the Khiladi. The movie will be directed by Anthony D'Souza, who had earlier directed adventure film Blue, which had also starred Akshay Kumar.
The source also added that this would be Akshay's first film, in which he will not have a leading lady opposite him. Akshay Kumar will be also be seen playing the role of Lord Krishna in upcoming film OMG Oh My God!, which stars Paresh Rawal and Mithun Chakraborty.

We had reported a few days back that actor Akshay Kumar, who will be seen playing the role of Lord Krishna in OMG Oh My God! had quit his non vegetarian diet after his mother urged him to turn to vegetarianism as long as he was working on the film. Now, it seems that our Khiladi has gone one step ahead to better understand his character.
Sources claim that at the behest of his mother, Akshay Kumar started reading the Bhagwad Gita, which is considered to be a holy text for Hindus, as Akki's mother felt that it was quite important for him to read the holy book if he was going to play the role of Krishna in the film. Being the good son that he is, our 'Rowdy' actor complied and went through the Gita.
Based on an acclaimed Hindi play Kishan v/s Kanhaiya, OMG Oh My God! is a story about a cynical atheist played by Paresh Rawal, who files a case against God for the loss suffered by him after his shop is destroyed due to a natural calamity.

Guess who is forever on Twinkle Khanna's side when Akshay Kumar is away for promotion and shooting of his many films? None other than Aarav, who is turning out to be quite a doting son, especially in this time of need.
"Though he would be turning 10 only next month, he has started picking up responsibilities rather fast. He maintained his calm when his grand dad (Rajesh Khanna) passed away last month. Now when the family is awaiting a new member, he is again by his parents' side. He understands his father's hectic schedule and has stepped ahead to fill in her for him while he is away. He is not leaving Twinkle's side even one bit", says a close associate of the family.
Though he is quite young, Aarav has grown up rather fast to understand the developments.
"He is over the moon about having another sibling to play with and pamper", the associate adds, "He is just like Akshay, he likes to take care of people."
When contacted, Akshay was obviously sounding emotionally charged. He said, "I must say that I have never known a child to be so understanding about a new born. My wife is being looked after minute by minute by Aarav. It's incredible to witness and reassuring for any father to know that any minute not spent with his pregnant wife is a minute taken care of by my willing son."
Guess it's all in the family after all.

The recent tragedy in Milwaukee, where a gunman opened fire at a gurudwara on Sunday and ended up killing seven people and injuring few others before being gunned down by law enforcement officials has shocked Bollywood and celebs took to Twitter to express their shock and outrage at the incident.
Amitabh Bachchan wrote, "Terrible news of shooting in Wisconsin, USA, inside Sikh Temple .. O ! Lord ! may all be safe ! This is terrible news ! What is happening in US ..? another shooting of innocents..!! And inside a temple, a Gurdwara .. !! Pained and shocked beyond words… Not in a mood to tweet any more after learning of the shooting inside Gurudwara .. let us all pray !!
Akshay Kumar, who has played a Sikh in 'Singh Is King', posted, "People on Earth still need to learn to get along. First the Colorado Batman shooting and now this! My heartfelt prayer."
Mandira Bedi: "My prayers for all the victims and their families who were affected by the crazed gunmans rampage at the Oak Creek Gurudwara in Wisconsin."

For the first time in Akshay Kumar's career, there will be no leading lady opposite him. The film is question is his next production venture Boss. Sources claim that it was a conscious decision to keep Akshay's character single as it would make the character mysterious, sinister and sympathetic.
The film, directed by Anthony D'Souza (Tony D'Souza) of Blue fame, is a good-gangsters-versus-bad-cop saga. While Akshay is set to play the good gangster, television actor Ronit Roy will play the bad cop.
Mithun Chakraborty has been roped in to play Akshay's father. Akshay is also paying his tribute to Amitabh Bachchan by starting the film's shoot on his birthday (October 11). Let's see if Akshay's decision to go solo in the film pays off or not!

Akshay Kumar and action are almost synonymous to each other. After the huge success of Rowdy Rathore, Akshay is set to act in another Sanjay Leela Bhansali production. Yet again, they are set to work in the remake of a South Indian film.
Since Rowdy Rathore is a remake of the Telugu film Vikramarkudu, this one will be a Hindi version of the 2002 Tamil blockbuster Ramana. The film has already been made in Telugu as Tagore and in Kannada as Vishnu Sena.
Sources claim that Sanjay was keen to have Akshay on board, following the success of Rowdy Rathore as well as his image of a rugged action hero.

A day ago, we had reported that Ghajini fame director A. R. Murugadoss is signing up Akshay Kumar to play the male lead in the Hindi version of Tamil action thriller Thuppakki and now, it seems that the Khiladi, whose on-screen chemistry with Katrina Kaif has been quite a hit, has suggested that Katrina be roped in as the female lead in the movie.
The Tamil version of Thuppakki starred South star Vijay and Force actor Vidyut Jammwal as the antagonist and sources claim that apart from Vijay, who will be replaced by Akshay, all the other characters will be retained in the Hind version.
Well, we can't help but wonder what Kumar's 'Rowdy' and Joker co-star Sonakshi Sinha feels about the Khiladi suggesting Kaif's name.

After giving stiff competition to Bollywood hunk John Abraham in cop drama Force, it seems that Vidyut Jammwal, who played the role of the antagonist Vishnu, will be gearing up to take on John's Desi Boyz co-star Akshay Kumar.
Sources claim that director A. R. Murugadoss (of Ghajini fame) will be directing a Tamil action flick named Thuppakki starring South actor Vijay and Vidyut Jammwal and will be roping in Akshay Kumar for the Hindi version of the film. It seems that except for Vijay, all the characters in the Tamil flick will be retained in the Hindi version and Jamwal, who plays the villain in the Tamil movie, will be pitted against the Khiladi in the Hindi movie.
We bet fans of action movies are already getting excited to see these two martial artists turned actors take on each other on the big screen. Meanwhile, Akshay Kumar, who made a comeback to the action genre with Rowdy Rathore, will be next seen in Shirish Kunder's Joker.

Lord Krishna might have used a chariot for transportation in mythological serials and films, but actor Akshay Kumar, who will be seen playing the role of modern day Krishna (complete with leather jackets and aviator glares) in OMG Oh My God!, will be seen vrooming on a specially designed Vardenchi Chopper bike in the film!
In the past, Vardenchi had designed motorcycles for Hollywood flicks like Sunburn, Ghost Rider and Tron but this will be first time that Vardenchi's chopper will be seen in a Bollywood movie. The motorcycle, which is worth a whopping sum of Rs. 10 lakhs, reportedly has some unique features, such as a 500 cc engine, scintillating graphic jobs, a double sided swing arm, a mirror classic chrome and a 300 mm rear tire, to name a few.
A source revealed, "It took Vardenchi 45 days to make a specially designed chopper especially for Akshay Kumar in OMG. It is designed keeping in mind the look of the film and the splendid personality of Akshay. Akshay Kumar loved the design and was very impressed by the drool factor of the motorcycle."
Based on Umesh Shukla's famous Gujarati play Kanji Viruddh Kanji, OMG Oh My God! also stars Paresh Rawal as an atheist.

Actor Akshay Kumar, who made a comeback to the action genre with Prabhu Deva directed Rowdy Rathore, will be once more seen in an action role in Milan Luthria's Once Upon A Time In Mumbaai 2, where he will be seen playing the role of an underworld don.
Sources claim that Kumar, whose role is based on Dawood Ibrahim, will take inspiration from Amitabh Bachchan's Don and Al Pacino starrer Scarface for his look in the film, claim sources. Confirming the news, Milan Luthria was quoted saying that they will be presenting Akki, as he is popularly known, in a never before seen avatar in the film, which would have an old world charm and yet look classy at the same time.
Kumar's 'Rowdy' co-star Sonakshi Sinha will be seen playing a gangster's moll in the film, which also stars Imran Khan and Sonali Bendre.
