A conman has brought a few creases to Anurag Kashyap's forehead. Apparently, a man named Varun Gupta, is auditioning girls in small towns, claiming that he is casting for Kashyap's upcoming film Bombay Velvet.
When Anurag got to know about this, he immediately posted a warning on his Twitter account and also revealed that he has filed an FIR against the conman. "Avoid a man called Varun Gupta who is auditioning girls apparently for BombayVelvet in smaller towns. he is a con. An FIR has been lodged," tweeted the filmmaker on the micro-blogging site. He also posted the Facebook ID of the fraudster and asked his followers to beware of him.
Anurag, who received rave reviews for his Gangs Of Wasseypur series, is now gearing up for his directorial next 'Bombay Velvet', which will feature Ranbir Kapoor as the male lead.
On one hand, where media publications and even director Anurag Kashyap and his team have declared that Anushka Sharma has been signed on to play the female lead opposite Ranbir Kapoor in Kashyap's ambitious project Bombay Velvet, the Band Baaja Baaraat actress claims that she has not signed the film yet!
A few days back, when asked about the film, Anushka was quoted saying that she has not signed the film and as such, she cannot comment on it until she signs the dotted line. Incidentally, when Kashyap was recently asked about who is the female lead for 'Bombay Velvet', he again said that Anushka Sharma is the actress in the film.
Meanwhile, Anurag Kashyap's recent two movies, viz the Gangs Of Wasseypur and Gangs of Wasseypur II turned out to be majorly successful and won him acclaim. On the other hand, Anushka Sharma will be next seen alongwith Shah Rukh Khan and Katrina Kaif in Yash Chopra's Untitled flick, in which Khan will be making a comeback as a romantic hero
Actor Anil Kapoor's son Harshvardhan is set to enter the film industry. The younger brother of actress Sonam Kapoor has taken courses in cinematography and screenplay writing in Los Angeles and is currently residing in Orange County. However, he will soon shift base to Mumbai to assist filmmaker Anurag Kashyap.
The youngster will be the assistant director for the Ranbir Kapoor-Anushka Sharma starrer Bombay Velvet.
Father Anil Kapoor was recently quoted saying that Anurag and Harsh know each other very well and that his son will learn a lot from the talented filmmaker.
Other star sons who have assisted top filmmakers are Ranbir Kapoor for Sanjay Leela Bhansali's Saawariya, Aamir Khan's son Junaid Khan in the upcoming Rajkumar Hirani film Peekay.
Fans of veteran actor Naseeruddin Shah, who loved his performances in Anurag Kashyap films like That Girl In Yellow Boots and Michael, will get a chance to see Shah in one more Kashyap flick.
Sources claim that Naseer will be joining the cast of Kashyap's ambitions project Bombay Velvet, which stars Ranbir Kapoor and Anushka Sharma. Confirming the news, Anurag added that Naseer has always stood by him even at times when the director did not have any money. Kashyap also gushed about the veteran actor and said that the atmosphere on the sets becomes more positive when Shah arrives to work.
Bombay Velvet will go on floors in April next year and apart from Ranbir, Anushka and Shah, the film will also have acclaimed actor Kay Kay Menon in a pivotal role.
