After several allegations that his forthcoming film Son Of Sardaar hurts religious sentiments, actor-producer Ajay Devgn is set to meet members of the Sikh community and have a screening of the film for them.
The 43-year-old actor would be visiting Amritsar with friend and co-star Sanjay Dutt to meet SPGC (Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee) officials, Sikh lawyers and members of All India Sikh Student Federation (AISSF).
The film will be screened during the meeting in Amritsar. On August 27, Karnail Singh, President of All India Sikh Student Federation (AISSF), in a letter to Jathedar Akhal Takht Giani Gurbachan Singh had requested stern action against Ajay for blasphemous remarks against the community as shown in the official trailer of the film.
It was alleged that the official trailer, released on YouTube, shows the character of a Sikh in bad light and comprises of demeaning dialogues such as "If Sikhs were not there then who would have invented abuses..." and "Without Sardaars, on whom would have jokes been made".
Moreover, Ajay is shown as a turban-wearing Sardar with the tattoo of Hindi God Shiva on his chest, which has also been termed as Anti-Sikh.
Punjab and Haryana High Court Advocate Navkiran Singh had issued a legal notice to the makers of the film on August 16 asking them to delete the objectionable parts within 7 days of receipt of the legal notice. However, actor-producer Ajay Devgn is yet to respond to the notice.
A few days ago, Ajay had issued a statement which said, "At no point anybody will find any element of disrespect. The protagonist of the film is a Sardaar, so the film will showcase a very positive projection of the community. One could just wait for the release and then come up with their comments and opinion."
Let's hope that once SPGC officials watch the film, there will not be any objections. Son Of Sardaar, directed by Ashwni Dhir and starring Ajay Devgn, Sanjay Dutt, Sonakshi Sinha and Juhi Chawla, is set to release on November 13.

For the first time in the history of Indian politics, an Indian politician was seen using the forum of Google Hangout for interacting with people across the world and it was none other than Bollywood actor-producer Ajay Devgn, who hosted this event for Gujarat CM Narendra Modi.
Sources claim that the Hangout session, which was hosted and moderated by Ajay Devgn saw Modi answer over 18 questions that were divided into 2 sessions. Most of the questions were live and ranged from domestic to international issues. In the past, USA President Barack Obama and the Prime Minister of Australia Julia Gilliard have participated in Hangout sessions.
It is being said that when the last date for asking questions closed on midnight of 29th August there were already over 20,000 questions for Modi, with people from 116 nations across the world logging in to hear him share his thoughts during the Hangout!
This is not the first time Devgn has associated with Modi. In the recent past, the actor had teamed up with Kumar Mangat and the Roha Group to invest in a huge state-of-the-art solar park at Charanka, Gujarat which was intitated and inaugurated by Narendra Modi.

It was recently reported that Ajay Devgn's home production Son Of Sardaar had landed in trouble with Sikh organizations. Karnail Singh, the president of AISSF (All India Sikh Students Federation) had written a letter to the Akal Takht, demanding that action should be taken against the film for hurting the religious sentiments of Sikhs. Apparently, the organization is miffed about certain 'demeaning' dialogues against Sikhs in the film. Moreover, they also objected to the fact that Devgn, a Sikh in the film, sports a tattoo of Lord Shiva, a Hindu God, on his chest. Karnail Singh had also revealed that they have sent a legal notice to the filmmakers.
Meanwhile, Ajay, the leading hero and the producer, has taken to social networking websites to clarify his stand on the controversy.
On the popular social networking website, Facebook, he posted, "My film Son of Sardaar does not hurt anybody's sentiments. I'm from Punjab and I have lot of respect for the community and culture as any anyone else and the last thing I would do is to hurt anyone. Infact I'm very proud of the community. We have made this film under the guidance of a lot of knowledgeable people so at no point you will find any element of disrespect. The protagonist of the film is a Sardaar so the film will showcase a very positive projection of the community. If you could just wait for the release and then come up with your comments and opinion. Trust me, we all will be proud of the film."
On his own micro-blogging account on Twitter, Ajay wrote, "Im frm Punjab n I respct d community proud of d culture Son of Sardaar does nt hurt sntimnts Jst wait for d rlease we'l be proud of d film."
It's indeed admirable that the star-producer has spoken out on a public platform, standing by his film.
Son Of Sardaar, starring Ajay Devgn, Sanjay Dutt, Juhi Chawla and Sonakshi Sinha, is set to release on November 13.

This year, Diwali is sure to have more than the usual dhamaka! Putting a rest to all speculations about the release date of upcoming flick Son Of Sardaar, the makers of the film have revealed that Ajay Devgn's highly anticipated Son Of Sardaar will carpet bomb cinemas in India and worldwide this Diwali on 13th November 2012!
A reliable source attached to the film recently confirmed that Ajay Devgn and Sanjay Dutt, who star in the film, are currently dubbing for the film in Hyderabad and the entire creative and marketing teams are brainstorming about putting in place an innovative publicity blitzkrieg as fans. Sources also revealed that the trailer of the film has created a buzz not only in India but also other places like Toronto, Vancouver, Burmingham and New York.
The respective production houses comprising Ajay Devgn Ffilms, Viacom 18 and YRV Infra & Media have paved the way for an all out release and have also licensed the worldwide distribution rights to Eros International, it seems.
Apart from Devgn and the deadly Dutt, the film, which is an action comedy also stars Sonakshi Sinha and Juhi Chawla in pivotal roles.

Actors Sanjay Dutt and Ajay Devgn will be neighbours for the next month. The duo will be staying close to each other through August and part of September in a studio on the outskirts of Hyderabad.
Incidentally, both actors have become really close in the last couple of years and are shooting for their respective films. While Ajay is shooting for Himmatwala, Sanjay is shooting for the remake of the South super hit Sammy.
Considering both of them are fitness freaks, they decided to exercise together every day. Sanjay is reportedly carrying his gym equipment along with him and will fly a cook who will plan out diet meals for him and Ajay.
Kajol along with her two kids - Nysa and Yug and Manyata Dutt with her twins - Iqra and Shahran will also join their husbands for the weekend.

Director Ashwini Dhir, whose action-comedy Son Of Sardaar will illume silver screens across the nation in Diwali this year, recently admitted that he was quite keen to rope in Kajol to act opposite hubby Ajay Devgn in the film!
However, it seems that when Dhir approached Kajol for the role, she politely refused citing domestic responsibilities and promptly recommended that Dhir sign up Sonakshi Sinha for the role. Though disappointed, Dhir agreed to Kajol's suggestions and roped in Sonakshi to star opposite Devgn. Incidentally, the last film that Kajol starred in was the 2010 flick Toonpur Ka Superhero, in which she was paired opposite Ajay Devgn.
Co-starring Sanjay Dutt and Juhi Chawla, Son Of Sardaar is Devgn's home production and the film, which is set in London and Punjab, is expected to release on November 13 this year.

Close friends Ajay Devgn and Sanjay Dutt will start shooting at the same venue in Hyderabad today.
The duo, next to be seen in Ashwini Dhir's Son Of Sardaar, will start shooting for their respective films at the Ramoji Rao Studio in Hyderabad from today.
While Ajay Devgn will be working on his upcoming film Himmatwala, directed by Sajid Khan, opposite South actress Tamannaah Bhatia, Sanjay Dutt will start shooting for KS Ravikumar's Saamy with Prachi Desai. Co-incidentally, both the films are remakes. Writer duo Farhad-Sajid, who have written dialogues for both the films, were quoted saying that it is going to be very tough for them as both the films are starting together.
The duo will next be seen in Son Of Sardaar, also starring Juhi Chawla and Sonakshi Sinha, which releases on November 13.

Actor Ajay Devgn, who was till recently shooting for the last schedule of his upcoming production venture Son Of Sardaar, has some valuable advice for his co-star and good friend Sanjay Dutt.
Ajay feels that Sanjay is very good at comic roles and that he should do more of that instead of serious roles that could affect his image.
A source was quoted saying that Sanjay has done too many serious roles in films such as Agneepath and Department so Ajay took out time to give Dutt some advice to brush up his comic timing.
Ajay, who has acted in blockbuster comedies such as Golmaal, Golmaal Returns, Golmaal 3 and Bol Bachchan, feels that Dutt too, can have several super hits in his kitty by doing comedy.

A senior lawyer on Friday issued a legal notice to actor-producer Ajay Devgn for allegedly hurting religious sentiments of Sikhs in his upcoming film Son Of Sardaar. Lawyer Navkiran Singh has taken this action against the makers of the film after watching the official trailer of Son Of Sardaar. The notice states that the trailer, in some parts, portrays Sikhs in a bad light and hurts their religious sentiments.
It further says that the contents available to the public through the official trailer on 'YouTube' contains absurd comments especially the line which indicates, “if Sardaars would not have been there, then on whom would the jokes be made." Navkiran has requested Devgn to remove such dialogues from the film in public interest or else he and all other persons involved in the making of this film would face legal action.
Even the Vipul Shah film, starring Akshay Kumar, Singh Is Kinng that released in the year 2008 had faced legal trouble for portraying Sikhs in a bad light.
Son Of Sardaar, starring Ajay Devgn, Sanjay Dutt, Juhi Chawla and Sonakshi Sinha, is set to release on November 13.

The fact that Ajay Devgn will be next seen playing the male lead in Sajid Khan directed Himmatwala remake is known to everyone by now. However, what most probably don't know that it was Devgn's father, Veeru Devgn, who worked as an action director on the original Himmatwala starring Jeetendra and Sridevi.
In a recent interview, while Ajay revealed this factoid, he also added that as a teenager, he had accompanied his father to Chennai where the famous taaki o taaki song was being recorded and that it was then that Jumpin' Jack Jeetendra, as he was fondly called because of his dance steps, predicted that Ajay would be an actor.
Devgn will be paired opposite South actress Tamannaah Bhatia in the film, which will be releasing in March 2013.

The festival of Holi is expected to be more colourful than usual next year. Buzz has it that Sajid Khan directed Himmatwala, which is the remake of a famous Jeetendra-Sridevi starrer blockbuster, is set to hit silver screens in March 2013.
The first look posters of the movie were unveiled a few days back and they have effectively managed to capture the essence of films that were made in the 80s. Produced by Vashu Bhagnani and UTV Motion Pictures, Himmatwala will star Ajay Devgn as the male lead whereas the female lead will be played by South actress Tamannaah Bhatia.
Incidentally, the 1983 film Himmatwala, which became famous for the taaki o taaki song, was in itself the Hindi remake of a 1981 Telugu film titled Ooriki Monagadu.

Intense actor Ajay Devgn, who was last seen playing a rustic pehelwan in Rohit Shetty's laugh riot Bol Bachchan, is gearing up to step into 'Jumpin' Jack' Jeetendra's shoes with the remake of Himmatwala and the first look of the Sajid Khan helmed flick was unveiled today.
The first look, which is in three parts, shows a grim Ajay Devgn looking quite macho in a leather jacket and holding a pair of temple bells while a tiger stands behind him. The next poster shows South actress Tamannaah Bhatia in a very 'Catwoman' like pose, holding a coiled whip in her hand whereas the third poster shows Devgn and Tamannaah striking a romantic pose with background dancers holding pots (like in the naino mein sapna song from the original Himmatwala) standing behind them.
Directed by Telugu filmmaker K. Raghvedra, the Jeetendra and Sridevi starrer Himmatwala, which released in 1983 was a super hit film.

After essaying the role of upright cop Bajirao Singham in the Rohit Shetty directed cop drama Singham, it seems actor Ajay Devgn might play 'Bajirao' once again, but for a different project.
Sources claim that filmmaker Sanjay Leela Bhansali, who had been planning a biopic on Maratha Peshwa Bajirao and his lady-love Mastani since the past decade, is gearing up to revive the project and is also planning to replace Salman Khan, who was the original choice for the role of Bajirao, with Ajay Devgn. It seems that Salman and Kareena Kapoor were the original choices to play Bajirao and Mastani but the project did not take off due to certain reasons.
However, sources close to Bhansali insist that the film is very much on the anvil and Bhansali, who is presently busy with Ram Leela is planning to give his attention to the historical love story after his current projects are over.
In the past, there had also been speculations that Bhansali might rope in Salman's arch rival Shah Rukh Khan for the role of Bajirao, but insiders claim that Ajay and Sanjay are in talks for the Bajirao Mastani project.

After essaying roles based on underworld figures Dawood Ibrahim and Haji Mastan in films like Company and Once Upon A Time In Mumbaai respectively, it seems that Ajay Devgn might be approached to play the role of jailed gangster Babloo Srivastava in a biopic based on the latter's life.
Sources claim that Babloo, who is presently incarcerated in a Lucknow jail, is planning his biopic and has expressed a desire that actor Ajay Devgn should essay his character as he feels Devgn is the best actor to pull off the role. Srivastava has also reportedly asked Vinay Sharma, the writer of upcoming mafia flick Zilla Ghaziabad to write the script for his biopic.
Meanwhile, Ajay Devgn, who was last seen in the hit laugh riot Bol Bachchan, which he had co-produced, will be next seen playing the role of a Sikh in home production Son Of Sardaar, which also stars Sanjay Dutt and Sonakshi Sinha.

After giving a landmark film like Singham, Ajay Devgn is all set to repeat history, as his latest release Bol Bachchan is ready to hit the Rs. 100 crore mark.
The Rohit Shetty flick has garnered a whopping sum of Rs 98.66 crore nett, according to trade analysts. So it's just a matter of time for the laugh riot to join the prestigious 100 crore club.
The film released in India on July 6, 2012 and also stars Asin Thottumkal, Prachi Desai and Abhishek Bachchan alongside Devgn. If the film hits the Rs. 100 crore mark, it will be Bachchan's first film to enter the club.

Though he's managed to set the box-office afire already with his latest, Bol Bachchan, we've always known that Ajay Devgn is not one to rest on his laurels. So, it's only appropriate that within just weeks of his last release, the actor-producer is already set and raring to go for his next outing, with the theatrical trailer of his much-anticipated action comedy, Son Of Sardaar' hits the waves online and causing quite a splash.
The full theatrical trailer of the Ajay, Sanjay Dutt, Sonakshi Sinha starrer debuted online on YouTube and social networks last night, giving restless audiences a taste of what they can expect from the slick action comedy. Quite a bit of the buzz is because 'Son Of Sardaar' sees Devgn reconnect with his Punjab da Puttar roots in a full-blooded Sardaar avatar. The film promises to treat audiences to equal doses of side-splitting comedy and pumping action, with a vengeful Dutt playing antagonist to Devgn, complete with a family of bumbling brothers in tow.
Being a hands-on producer, Ajay broke the trailer online himself, tweeting to his fans late last night, saying "This is it #SOS Son of Sardaar theatrical...go get it!" Devgn's numerous fans lapped it up instantly, many raving about the looks of the film and its stars. Sonakshi did her bit for the trailer too, passing the link onto her fans on the social network.
Up for release this Diwali weekend, Son Of Sardaar promises to be a firecracker of a film, and with the trailer racking up numbers online, audiences can already catch a bit of the sparkle!

Fans of Ajay Devgn have yet another reason to celebrate! After thrilling the audiences with his super hit Bol Bachchan, Devgn is back with his much-awaited laugh riot Son Of Sardaar.
The first theatrical trailer of Ajay's much-anticipated Son Of Sardar, will hit the silver screens this weekend, with one of Hollywood's biggest films, in recent times, Christopher Nolan's The Dark Knight Rises.
The trailer will be up online tonight, so audiences don't actually have to wait till the weekend and can enjoy it in the comfort of their homes.
The trailer will have Ajay doing the narration, where he humorously and beautifully encapsulates his character's thoughts of what the world would be like without the happy go lucky sardaars. And if industry insiders and trade pundits, who've seen the trailer, are to be believed, then the movie has all the elements of a blockbuster just right!
Directed by Ashwini Dhir, the action comedy stars Sonakshi Sinha, Juhi Chawla, Sanjay Dutt alongside Devgn and is slated to hit the theaters this Diwali.

Rohit Shetty and Ajay Devgn, who had everyone rolling in the aisles with laughter with their recent flick Bol Bachchan, also managed to bring a delighted smile to the faces of some underprivileged kids from the Smile Foundation this Sunday.
It seems that Shetty and Devgn interacted with their little fans at Mehboob Studios and the two were quite touched when the children presented them with a huge and colourful card as a token of their love and affection. Needless to say, the kids charmed the duo, who were seen distributing chocolates and other goodies to the little ones.
Shetty and Devgn, who teamed up for hit films like the Golmaal series, Singham and Bol Bachchan will next work on the sequel to Singham, which Shetty claims is a fresh story and not a remake of any other flick.
