Shirin Farhad Ki Toh Nikal Padi Music Review

Shirin Farhad Ki Toh Nikal Padi is an upcoming Bollywood romantic comedy which is made under the banner of Sanjay Leela Bhansali, the man who is known for tellingsome fabulous love stories. The film casts Boman Irani as Farhad, a loving Parsi bachelor, and Farah Khan as Shirin - a suitable match, who is redefining her career in acting after fulfilling her highly successful ambition as a choreographer (and also taking it forward as a director). The soft and melodious music of this album by Jeet Ganguly (with lyrics by Amitabh Bhattacharya) adds another dimension to thecomic theme which is quite an experiment to watch for.

The album begins with the track Ishq Mein Tere Bina which has melodious vocals of Shreya Ghoshal who is accompanied by K.K. This number begins with soft and subtle instruments in the background that binds the romantic theme of the song. The impact of Shreya's vocals is really remarkable and charismatic as she portrays romantic mood in the song quite well. Amitabh's lyrics and Jeet's music go hand in hand, hence resulting in a captivating song that pertinently depicts the mood of the movie.

The magic continues in the voice of Shreya Ghoshal who arrives with the track - Khatti Meethi. Aura of her voice can be truly felt in the track which flows as smoothly as a stream of water with amazing play of guitar in background. This one actually paints a joyful mood. Amitabh's selection of words catches attention of the listeners.

The album moves ahead with another solo Kaafir Andhere, third straight piece of melody in the line-up which tries to express the melancholy in the some attention grabbing vocals of K.K. The track covers a journey from low to high notes where melancholy takes its peak in K.K's emotive vocals. Lyrics by Amitabh compliment depth of the pain here.

Mood is uplifted as one proceeds from a painful to a joyful number with the title track Shirin Farhad Ki Toh Nikal Padi. Neeraj Shridhar shapes up the theme of the album with some rap added on to good measure as well. Still, since the track is not something which could be termed as an out of the box piece, it may not be able to leave its mark.

There is good experiment coming into play with Mohit Chauhan being heard for the track Kuku Duku. The track goes well with the comic theme of the album with flavors of rock music being mixed. Lyrics by Amitabh are catchy but still could have added something more to this comic theme, hence making the song all the more attractive. Mohit is good as always and is matchless yet again.

What one misses though is a dance track that could have made you shake your leg. In Rhamba Mein Samba, Jeet tries to infuse this color too with the queen of Rhamba Samba music, Usha Uthup, but still falls short. The track is fine but not something which can actually be taken to the dance floor.

Overall, it's a good album with a bag full of melody due to vocals of K.K, Shreya Ghoshal, Mohit Chauhan, Usha Uthup and Neeraj Shridhar. Still, what makes it short on some counts is a missing dance number as well as some effective lyrics that could have brought on all dimensions of joy.
