Challo Driver Music Review

'Challo Driver' is a romantic comedy that features Kainaz Motiwala of 'Ragini MMS' fame who pairs up with actor-lyricist-producer-director Vickrant Mahajan. The music album comprises of five tracks being composed by Gaurav Dayal and Sajjad Ali Chandwani.

'Challo Drover' begins with the track 'Kudi Pataka Driver' which is all about a female chauffeur, thus very aptly explaining the theme of the movie. The vocals of the track are led with Mika with Hard Kaur chipping in as well in her boisterous self. She kick-starts the proceedings with her English renditionbefore Mika takes over and ends up dominating the rest of the song. Though this could have been a catchy Punjabi number, one somehow feels that overall it does not leave any significant mark. Even lyrics are routine and don't really grab your attention much.

Next to arrive is 'Dehle Pe Gulla', another distinct Punjabi composition in the album. Vocalist Labh Janjua is very aptly able to connect the theme of the song with Punjabi 'masti' and fun on the beats of 'dhol'. This time around lyrics are simple, yet attractive.

'Wakhre Wakhre Kaam', another addition to the album is an average track. As singers, Gaurav Dayal and Aditi Verma are not able to add much charm to the track since it comes across as a barely passable 'jugalbandi'.

'Umangon Ka Karavan' is a soothing passionate song. Track begins with a soft whistle and guitar that is followed by the soft and romantic vocals of Shaan and Raktima which directly relates with the joyous mood of the setting, hence coming as a fresh morning breeze and in the process lifts your mood. This one is a better track and also quite different from the first three numbers.

The music album ends with 'Ittefaq Hai Daastan Hai', a solo, which is sung tremendously by Shubhankar Dutta . This one is a slow number that starts on low notes and has soft instruments blend quite well with the soft and subtle voice of Shubhankar. A sad number that does manage to touch your heart to some extent at the least.

Overall, 'Challo Driver' is an average album with songs that depict the comical essence of the film. Though Punjabi tracks dominate the scene, irony is that they don't really leave a long lasting impact for the listeners.'Challo Driver' is a romantic comedy that features Kainaz Motiwala of 'Ragini MMS' fame who pairs up with actor-lyricist-producer-director Vickrant Mahajan.
