Actor Abhishek Bachchan, who had played the role of Indian Army Captain Vikram Batra in J. P. Dutta's war flick LOC - Kargil, got nostalgic about his role today, which is remembered as 'Kargil Diwas'.
Taking to Twitter, AB Jr wrote, "Today is Kargil Diwas. I had the honour of getting the opportunity to play the role of the great Capt. Vikram Batra in my film L.O.C. A silent prayer for all that fought and lost lives…. We must never forget their sacrifice.
A 2003 film based on the actual Kargil War that was fought between India and Pakistan, LOC - Kargil saw Abhishek Bachchan play the role of Captain Vikram Batra, who laid down his life while fighting infiltrators. Captain Batra, whose iconic battle-cry Ye Dil Maange More became a popular catch-phrase with Indian soldiers, was posthumously awarded the Param Vir Chakra, India's highest award for valour, for his actions during the Kargil War.
