3 Bachelors, as the title suggests, appears to be an album about youth, masti, enjoyment and carefree attitude. Since the film's title includes '3', there is a promise to get thrice of what is expected. Hold on to your thoughts though since the irony is that the album is not even average. Falling in line with the name, there are 3 tracks in the album, something which is unconventionally less. It is said that teen tigaada, kaam bigaada; however the team does not seem to believe in any superstition, as the starcast too has '3' lead actors – Sharman Joshi, Riya Sen and Raima Sen.
Sharman and Ria had been seen earlier in the hit comedy Style a decade ago. Now 3 Bachelors pairs the Sen Sisters together and it has to be seen that what really is the impact they manage to create in the world of music as well as the film.
Unfortunately though, there is nothing much to speak about in each of the three tracks. There are big names like Shaan, Sunidhi Chauhan and Vinod Rathod involved but the album fails to capitalize on it.
The first track of the album, Dag Mag Dag Mag, has been decorated with beautiful voices of Shaan and Sunidhi Chauhan but lyrics given by Parveen Bhardwaj are very average. Same holds true for Daboo Malik's music as well. This romantic dance number starts well but is unable to leave any mark thereafter, hence turning out to be one of those hundreds of other songs which come throughout the year and vanish out soon.
The second track in the album, Dhoom Dhaam starts with the strong voice of Kalpana and is accompanied with beautiful tune of Rajasthani folk music. Soon enough though, it proves to be no different than the first track when it comes to the overall quality. Yes, there is a beautiful play of 'sarangi', something which is heard after a long time. However lyrics (by Rekha Mistri) as well as music resemble the era of 1980's and even though it tries to enter the territory of Pallo Latke [Naukar], it fails.
The third and the final track is Shankeriya Shankeriya, which is sung by Vinod Rathod and Mou Mukherjee. Though the two singers try to infuse some life in the proceedings, the yesteryear effect pulls this one down as well, hence turning out to be yet another downer.
Overall, 3 Bachelors is a below average album which will not be able to influence people to hear it again. Now if only it had included a few more numbers, it may still have had it's chances due to law of averages coming into play.
