Sridevi's 'English Vinglish' To Be Screened At 'Toronto International Film Festival'


The Toronto International Film Festival announced 17 Galas and 45 Special Presentations, including 38 world premieres, yesterday morning. One of the films to be featured in the festival will be Sridevi's much-talked-about comeback venture English Vinglish. Cameron Bailey, Artistic Director, Toronto International Film Festival, re-tweeted a couple of tweets, mentioning the film's inclusion at the prestigious event.

The film marks the directorial debut of Gauri Shinde, wife of acclaimed director R.Balki of Paa fame. It also marks the return of Sridevi to the silver screen after a hiatus of nearly 15 years.The unique 'first look' of the film, which was released a month ago, has garnered much praise from the audiences.

In the film Sridevi plays the titular role of a housewife, who enrolls for an English speaking course in order to please her family. English Vinglish, also starring French actor Mehdi Nebbou, Adil Hussain, Priya Anand and Amitabh Bachchan in a special appearance, is set to hit the screens on September 21.
