'Heroine' Poster Takes Inspiration From 'Cover Story-The Ultimate Interview'?

The posters of Madhur Bhandarkar's magnum opus Heroine starring Kareena Kapoor, Randeep Hooda and Arjun Rampal were recently out and it was widely reported that one of the posters showing Kareena Kapoor lying on her back on a bed closely resembled a promotional photo of Mariah Carey's album 'The Emancipation Of Mimi'.

However, what many probably don't know is that this is not the first time the poster of Heroine has been inspired from somewhere else. The initial poster of Heroine, which had then featured Aishwarya Rai Bachchan (who was supposed to star in it initially) bears a close resemblance to a poster of Cover Story-The Ultimate Interview, a film directed by Dutch filmmaker Laurens Postma. The film stars Anjum Nayar and Jackie Shroff and is in itself the official remake of an acclaimed Dutch film 'Interview', which got remade in Hollywood by Steve Buscemi and starred Sienna Miller.

The poster of Cover Story-The Ultimate Interview shows the cover page of a glossy magazine featuring actress Anjum Nayar and the initial Heroine poster, which was unveiled at Cannes, too showed a close-up of Aishwarya Rai Bachchan on the cover page of a magazine.

Cover Story-The Ultimate Interview revolves around the interview of a well-known actress and her interactions with a journalist through the course of an interview. Anjum Nayar plays the role of an actress whereas Jackie Shroff essays the role of a veteran war correspondent, who switches tracks to cover the glitzy field of entertainment. The film is expected to release later this year.
