'Zanjeer' Remake To Be Re-Written To Avoid Comparisons With 'Singham'?

The 1973 Amitabh Bachchan blockbuster Zanjeer and the 2011 Ajay Devgn starrer Singham both have many similarities in the sense that both stories involve around an upright police officer who fights a corrupt system and it seems that Apoorva Lakhia, who is directing the Zanjeer remake, is planning to re-write some portions of the flick after considering such similarities.

Sources claim that Apoorva had not seen Singham so when Prakash Raj, the antagonist of the Zanjeer remake, who also played the bad guy in Singham, pointed out to the makers that there were lots of similarities between the old Big B starrer flick and the Rohit Shetty cop drama. Following this, Lakhia saw Singham and decided that he would have to re-write some portions to avoid any comparisons between the two.

The Zanjeer remake stars South star Chiranjeevi's son Ram Charan Teja, who shall essay the role of Inspector Vijay Khanna (which had been played by Big B in the original). The film also stars Priyanka Chopra as the female lead alongwith other actors like Mahie Gill and Arjun Rampal.
