Mere Dost Picture Abhi Baki Hai Music Review

Mere Dost Picture Abhi Baaki Hai is another addition to the planet of comedy in Bollywood. The music album attempts to versatile while comprising of seven tracks that are composed by varied music directors and also sung by different artists. However, only Sukhwinder and Parvez manage to leave some mark.

The music album begins with the title track Picture Abhi Baki Hai which very aptly explains the theme of the movie. Sung well by Shabab Sabri, it has lyricist Ravi Chopra using words like 'seat', 'balcony', 'parda' and 'interval' quite well, hence giving a true sense of a theater in motion. However, music by composer Rajendra Shiv is quite ordinary and doesn't really make you hear the song all over again.

Next on the chart comes the track Salaame Ishq where music begins on high nodes. Magic of Sunidhi's sensuous voice gives it an appeal of an item number. This one is the kind which one can at least to a few times. Music by Subhash Pradhan has a usual party number feel it without any new innovations being made to it. Lyricist Swasti Shree Sharma has alsokept things quite effortless though one doesn't really stays on with the song and merely moves on.

Chala Hai Joshi is another addition to the music album. The track begins with a guitar and composers Parvez Qasar and Subhash Pradhan have tried to keep the music simple and straightforward. Lyrics by Taabish Romani are catchy too and aptly narrate the tale of the protagonist Amar Joshi, hence connecting the masseswith the theme of the movie.

Next to arrive is Koi Na Samjha, a track by Parvez Qasar, which is a soft number with light music given by Parvez Qasar and Subhash Pradhan again. Overall, a nice composition and somewhat pleasant to the ears.

Its Rain Rain is a duet by Sunidhi Chauhan and Sukhwinder Singh. While Sunidhi Chauhan lends it a sensuous and a sumptuous appeal, Sukhwinder adds further flavor to it in his characteristic andaaz. He also does well in the composition department, hence spreading the magic of rain in the hearts of the listeners. However this time around its Sameer's lyrics which are the culprit as they are quite ordinary and just not manage to leave a mark.

Sanam Sanam, a duet track sung by Shaan and Shradha Pandit, is not pleasing at all though. Sukhwinder Singh's music is not at all catchy and doesn't even classify as ordinary. Sameer's lyrics are simple and don't manage to lend the album any laurels. An out and out skip worthy track.

Last to arrive is Zindagi Mere Pass which is sung and composed reasonably well by Sukhwinder Singh. An expression of 'dard' and melancholy can be truly felt in Sukhwinder's vocals; though overall the song seems to be quite unusual while trying to fit into the hilarious theme of the movie. Lyrics by Sameer are rhythmical and impressive though.

Overall, the music album is below average as it comprises of a few highs but severallows. Don't expect this one to be giving leading chartbusters any competition whatsoever.
