Madhur Bhandarkar Defends Habit Of Making Realistic Films

Acclaimed director Madhur Bhandarkar has always been credited for making cinema that reflect real society in films like Chandni Bar, Page 3, Traffic Signal and Fashion and the director, who is now gearing up for his next release Heroine, claims that he doesn't feel the need to create a fantasy world for his stories.

In a recent interview, when asked about his penchant for making realistic films, Bhandarkar was quoted saying that he sees so many stories happening around him all the time that he doesn't feel the need to venture out to create a fantasy world. He further added that there is no bigger connect for audiences than to see a story that is based on what they see happening around them.

Heroine, which stars Kareena Kapoor, Randeep Hooda and Arjun Rampal in the lead roles, revolves around the rise to stardom and subsequent decline of an actress.
