Dibakar Banerjee's film Shanghai was screened in Baghdad, just outside the Green Zone on July 15.
Although there were two power failures during the screening, the event was attended by Safia Taheb Al Suhail, member of the Iraqi Parliament and His Excellency Suresh Reddy. Even a few soldiers were present at the screening.
This screening made Shanghai the first Indian film to be screened in the last 20 years in Iraq.
The film, starring Emraan Hashmi, Kalki Koechlin and Abhay Deol, has garnered much praise from the critics.
