
Filmmaker Madhur Bhandarkar, popular for making women-centric films such as Chandni Bar, Page 3, Fashion and the upcoming Heroine, clarifies that he is not gender-biased and that his only claim is to make good movies.
Bhandarkar was recently quoted saying that for him it is necessary to make a good film, which garners success and critical acclaim and that he is never gender-biased. Although he agreed that the ratio of female actresses is more in his films but that depends on what kind of film is he making at that time.
His films have not only consolidated his reputation as a hard-hitting director, but also won the lead actresses, Tabu and Priyanka Chopra, National awards for their performances.
His latest film Heroine, starring Kareena Kapoor, Arjun Rampal and Randeep Hooda, is set to release on September 21.
