A senior lawyer on Friday issued a legal notice to actor-producer Ajay Devgn for allegedly hurting religious sentiments of Sikhs in his upcoming film Son Of Sardaar. Lawyer Navkiran Singh has taken this action against the makers of the film after watching the official trailer of Son Of Sardaar. The notice states that the trailer, in some parts, portrays Sikhs in a bad light and hurts their religious sentiments.
It further says that the contents available to the public through the official trailer on 'YouTube' contains absurd comments especially the line which indicates, “if Sardaars would not have been there, then on whom would the jokes be made." Navkiran has requested Devgn to remove such dialogues from the film in public interest or else he and all other persons involved in the making of this film would face legal action.
Even the Vipul Shah film, starring Akshay Kumar, Singh Is Kinng that released in the year 2008 had faced legal trouble for portraying Sikhs in a bad light.
Son Of Sardaar, starring Ajay Devgn, Sanjay Dutt, Juhi Chawla and Sonakshi Sinha, is set to release on November 13.
