Gulshan Grover To Play A Character Inspired by M. F. Husain

The legendary artist Maqbool Fida Husain (M. F. Husain) is set to have a film inspired by his life. Although it's not a biopic, but the film, directed by Shashank Shekhar, is about an artist who gives back to society though his art.

Gulshan Grover, reportedly, will be playing the character. He is going to sport long hair with the trademark stubble, and will move around barefoot in the film. Furthermore, to make his look as authentic as possible, the actor will take a lot from his interactions with the late artist.

Interestingly, Gulshan also practiced painting before he started work on the film. He was quoted saying that Art was a subject during his academic years and that for this particular role; he took lessons from his painter friends to get some nuances right for his performance.

M F Husain passed away on June 9 last year at a hospital in London.
