Ajay Devgn Backs His Film 'Son Of Sardaar'

It was recently reported that Ajay Devgn's home production Son Of Sardaar had landed in trouble with Sikh organizations. Karnail Singh, the president of AISSF (All India Sikh Students Federation) had written a letter to the Akal Takht, demanding that action should be taken against the film for hurting the religious sentiments of Sikhs. Apparently, the organization is miffed about certain 'demeaning' dialogues against Sikhs in the film. Moreover, they also objected to the fact that Devgn, a Sikh in the film, sports a tattoo of Lord Shiva, a Hindu God, on his chest. Karnail Singh had also revealed that they have sent a legal notice to the filmmakers.

Meanwhile, Ajay, the leading hero and the producer, has taken to social networking websites to clarify his stand on the controversy.

On the popular social networking website, Facebook, he posted, "My film Son of Sardaar does not hurt anybody's sentiments. I'm from Punjab and I have lot of respect for the community and culture as any anyone else and the last thing I would do is to hurt anyone. Infact I'm very proud of the community. We have made this film under the guidance of a lot of knowledgeable people so at no point you will find any element of disrespect. The protagonist of the film is a Sardaar so the film will showcase a very positive projection of the community. If you could just wait for the release and then come up with your comments and opinion. Trust me, we all will be proud of the film."

On his own micro-blogging account on Twitter, Ajay wrote, "Im frm Punjab n I respct d community proud of d culture Son of Sardaar does nt hurt sntimnts Jst wait for d rlease we'l be proud of d film."

It's indeed admirable that the star-producer has spoken out on a public platform, standing by his film.

Son Of Sardaar, starring Ajay Devgn, Sanjay Dutt, Juhi Chawla and Sonakshi Sinha, is set to release on November 13.
